Activities

With its mission at the forefront of our thinking, in partnership with ANZSOG the Institute has established:

  • A neutral space for bringing together experts from academia, practice and the private and third sectors to problem-solve on critical governance issues on the basis of hard evidence through the provision of a broad range of seminar, workshop and conferencing activities.
  • Knowledge networks comprised of inter-disciplinary scholars and leading practitioners drawn from the public, private and third sectors to undertake collaborative action-based research on policy and implementation to address systemic challenges in collaborative governance.
  • An action based research partnership with the ACT on ‘transforming our services’.
  • A home for the research, innovation and strategic leadership programs of the Australian Centre for Excellence in Local Government (ACELG) to provide innovative research and professional training in support of the Australian Government’s local government reform process.
  • A centre for high quality graduate education to nurture a new generation of PhD educated scholars and teachers in public administration and public policy to meet the national skills deficit in this area.
  • A platform for the delivery of a broad range of MPA and professional development activities aimed at supporting the international modernising public services agenda in collaboration with ANZSOG university and government partners including collaborative provision with the Australian Public Service Commission and Chartered Secretaries Australia.
  • A Public Policy Research Archive which provides government users with access to a broad range of on-line materials on contemporary public administration and policy-making in its areas of expertise.
  • ANZSOG Canberra Alumni Association and events.
