The Institute has a broad social purpose born from a belief that research, teaching and practice is enriched by bringing together the best research, cutting edge teaching and learning methods and what works in practice. The Institute is therefore dedicated to promoting outstanding public sector leadership, policy and delivery that really works for the benefit of the public. With this aim in mind the Institute seeks to bring together the best of theory and the best of practice. In sum, we aim to advance knowledge and improve governance practices. Our research has genuine public (economic, social, environmental, political) value emanating from organic collaborations with local and international stakeholders and researchers. Our culture is scholarly, inclusive, respectful, diverse, developmental and collegial. People want to work in, and with, our Institute including international visitors and graduate research students.
