The Globalisation and Cities Research Program to Collaborate with Regional Development Australia Sunshine Coast

Wed 25 September 2013

The Globalisation and Cities Research Program at the Institute for Governance will Collaborate with Regional Development Australia (RDA) Sunshine Coast for their latest project.

The team, Dr Richard Hu, Mr Shaun Allen and Mr Lucas Carmody, will  investigate “Clustering of Knowledge Workers in Southeast Queensland: Where Do They Work and Where Do They Live?”.

This project aims to measure the agglomeration of high value economic sectors and knowledge workers in the Southeast Queensland region, which will include Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Logan, Redlands, Ipswich, and Toowoomba.

Speaking earlier, Dr Hu is expressed his excitement to start this new project.

“We’re pleased to participate in the study for the Southeast Queensland region, one of Australia’s fastest growing regions. This study will help better understand the SEQ’s knowledge sector and innovative capacities, and inform its regional planning and policy making. The outcomes will be useful for other Australian cities and regions as well.”
