Arne Strand is educated in Post-war Recovery Studies, with specialisation on coordination of humanitarian assistance in complex emergencies.
He has long experience of directing Norwegian NGOs work in Afghanistan, and in developing management and professional capacities of Afghan national NGOs and NGOs role in peacebuilding. And, more recently, managed a Cyprus based research/dialogue project.
During recent years he has been team leader/member of several evaluations in Afghanistan, reviewing the operations and strategies of the Afghan Government, UN agencies, Donors and NGOs. He has participated in several international studies and research projects on peacebuilding, migration and return processes, emergency response, development cooperation, good governance, NGO coordination, risk assessments and conflict sensitive approaches.Back to Centre for Post-crisis Leadership and Development
