Julia Enriquez joined the Centre for Deliberative Democracy and Global Governance as research intern. Julia is in her final year of a Double Bachelor’s Degree in Global Studies; and Tourism and Event Management at the University of Canberra. While at the centre she plans on exploring the opportunities and challenges of deliberative democracy in connection to the refugee crisis, particularly in regard to young refugees.

Prior to this internship Julia has done volunteering in Madrid (Spain) and Canberra (Australia) with poverty alleviation groups, UN Women Australia, the Suicide Awareness Ball and the Cerebral Palsy Foundation. She also worked as an Events and Research intern at Mahdlo Youth Zone in Manchester (UK) in 2018, where she assisted in planning various fundraising and community events, and carried out prospect research to identify potential sponsors and donors. As of 2020, Julia is working at KPMG as a Front of House Team Member, where she supports the delivery of various corporate services to executive meetings and functions.
