Chioma Helen Madubuko is a postgraduate student in Communications at the Faculty of Arts and Design, University of Canberra. She joined the Centre for Deliberative Democracy and Global Governance as an intern to work on the ‘Connecting to Parliament’ project led by Prof John Dryzek, Dr Selen Ercan and Dr Nick Vlahos. 

Chioma has a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Nigeria with a specialisation in in civil and criminal litigation and dispute resolution. Prior to joining the University of Canberra as a postgraduate student, Chioma has worked as a news writer in the radio station of Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Nigeria, and as a volunteer in the Cerebral Palsy Alliance in Armidale. Chioma is the Co-founder of the Chukwuma and Chioma Peace and Development Foundation, where she plans, initiates and facilitates research and fundraising activities to foster palliatives. She has interest in topics related to family justice, social justice, and governance.

During her internship at the Centre for Deliberative Democracy and Global Governance (August-November 2020), Chioma will work on the public engagement and media promotion strategies for the ‘Connecting to Parliament’ project.
