Celine Langlands joined the Centre for Deliberative Democracy and Global Governance as a winter research intern. Celine is in her fourth and final year of a Double Bachelor’s Degree in Art’s (Global Studies) and Commerce (Economics) at the University of Canberra. During her internship she plans to explore the opportunities and challenges of the upcoming Global Citizens Assembly with particular focus on the issue of multilingual communication.   

Prior to this internship Celine has volunteered in England as a teacher’s assistant and as a Lattitude Global Volunteering Ambassador, encouraging young adults to partake in an International volunteering experience. She has also worked with UN Women Australia, where she was engaging with key stakeholders to ensure the success of the 2021 International Women’s Day Events. Celine is excited to use the knowledge and skills gained from her previous volunteer and work experiences in her research at the Centre for Deliberative Democracy.
