Expert panel dissects key election issues in UC seminar

Media Alert: Local and federal elections may still be a few months away, but the battle lines are being drawn and a group of informed Canberrans will dissect and discuss the parties’ platforms at the University of Canberra’s first Canberra Conversations event for 2016 TOMORROW.

The University’s Institute for Governance and Policy Analysis (IGPA) presents the regular public seminars to discuss issues of importance in the local community.

In this public event, an expert panel will deliberate on what key federal and ACT election issues will be critical to the public and why, and what we can expect from the coming months of campaigning.

The Election(s) Canberra Conversation will be hosted by ABC journalist and IGPA’s adjunct professor, Virginia Haussegger AM.

Panelists include:

Fairfax media ACT politics reporter, Kirsten Lawson;
CityNews owner and editor, Ian Meikle AM;
Canberra Times columnist and emeritus professor of political science in the School of Politics and International Relations at the Australian National University, John Warhurst AO; and
Former Canberra Times Editor-at-Large, Jack Waterford AM.
