Research Interests

The economic status of Indigenous Australians, the gender pay gap, immigration and the economics of education




Professor Anne Daly's  teaching has focussed in the areas of Labour Economics and Microeconomics. She has supervised HDR students in a wide range of related topics.

Anne has been researching in the area of Indigenous Australians in the labour market for 20 years. The issues covered have included Indigenous Australians in the labour market, the interaction between the welfare system and labour force participation, the economic status of Indigenous families and the evaluation of programs developed to promote Indigenous well being. Much of this work has been undertaken in collaboration with the Centre for Aboriginal Economic Policy Research at ANU where Anne is a Visiting Fellow.

Anne is also an associate of NATSEM at the University of Canberra where she has worked as an integral part of the team developing small area measures of the risk of social exclusion among Australian children and youth. In addition Anne has contributed to other parts of the NATSEM research program including studies on the gender pay gap, Indigenous issues and HDR supervision.

Anne is a member of the Centre for Labour Market Research (CLMR). She has a continuing interest in gender pay issues, migration and the economics of education.
